protecting stone from lichen and algae with sealer

This question was asked by
marcus

I have a terrace of indian sandstone which has developed terrible black spot lichen everywhere. I have pressure hosed off as much as possible but cant get it all off. If I could keep it like it is that would be ok even tho some spots remain.
Would your Stone and Slate Protector prevent the regrowth of the lichens and algae.

Yes applying sealer to the surface will stop the algae and lichen from being able to take hold on the paving (it may form on the surface but it will be easy to wash off/treat), if the algae does come back (if there are a lot of trees in you area) it can be treated with our moss and algae remover which you just spray on to the paving and leave to do its thing.

Protecting Welsh Slate Flooring

This question was asked by

I have a welsh slate floor that was put down 5 years ago in a kitchen. It needs re-protecting as the original stuff I applied has now rubbed off and some small areas now have the bare stone showing (places where chair legs have rubbed etc).

What’s your advice for this in terms of products you suggest and the method of application?

I would suggest using the High gloss PU, this is a very hardwearing sealer, but I would suggest removing the old sealer first as it is obviously having issues with adhesion.

Application instructions will be sent with the product.

cured concrete colour

i want to add some colour to some outside cured concrete on a roadway in a green or brown which would be the best product

It really all depends on what you are looking for as the finished product. If you are just looking for a solid uniform colour the the best one to use would be the Solid colour stain (link below), if you are wanting a more translucent or mottled colour or to have a few colours together then the Smartcolour would be best.

Concrete stain

This question was asked by
Carly

How long does the concrete need to have been laid before the Endura Faux Fusion stain is applied?

Concrete needs to have been down a minimum of 30 days before applying a coating to the surface, it is also recommended to acid wash the surface to remove any weak or loose material from the surface to ensure a good bond.

AdSeal Stone and Slate Sealer

This question was asked by
Mr Peter Critchley

Can you advise on when to use your AdSeal Stone and Slate Sealer on my newly as in two weeks old Indian stone patio . Some say leave till summer others say wait for a dry day ??

To apply the sealer you need the stone to be dry and the temperature to be above 5 degrees.

You will also want the weather to stay dry for a minimum of 2 hours after you finish applying the sealer.

staining/dying stone.

This question was asked by

Hello, I have a natural blond sandstone hearth and wanted to check which of your products would be best for colouring it.

Unfortunately the stains and dyes that we sell are designed for use on concrete surfaces and not suitable for use on natural stone.

Resin bound stone

This question was asked by
Steve Varden

If I were to cover my concrete driveway with resin bound stone, would I be able to park a 4,500kg Mercedes Sprinter based motorhome on it without it sinking in?

As long as it is being laid on concrete and as long as the installation is done correctly it will be fine to park the motorhome on.
